Where your story meets the comfort of home

There’s something incredibly sacred about the early days with a new baby. The quiet chaos, the soft in-between moments, the way time feels both still and fleeting all at once. That’s exactly why I created Moments at Home Sessions—so you don’t have to leave your space, pack a diaper bag, or “get everyone ready” to preserve this chapter. I come to you, with a simple, portable studio setup, and we turn your home into the most meaningful backdrop there is: your life, just as it is.

A session that meets you where you are

When I arrive, everything is intentionally slow and gentle. There’s no rush, no pressure for a perfect house, and no expectation that life looks anything other than what it currently is.

I’ll do a quick walk-through of your space to find the best natural light. Sometimes that means opening curtains, shifting a chair, or choosing the coziest corner of your home. That’s it. Nothing complicated. Nothing overwhelming.

And truly—you don’t need to clean or stage your home. I’m a mom too, and I understand what those early postpartum days actually look like. The beauty isn’t in perfection. It’s in the realness.

What your session feels like

Your session typically lasts about 60–90 minutes, but the pace is entirely guided by your baby and your family.

We pause when needed. We feed, soothe, change diapers, and take breaks without watching the clock. Some of the most meaningful images happen in those in-between moments—your baby resting on your chest, siblings peeking in with curiosity, or quiet laughter between feeds.

This is not a performance. It’s your life, documented gently and intentionally.

A simple, thoughtful setup brought to you

One of the most loved parts of these sessions is that I bring a small, curated studio setup directly into your home.

Based on your session package, you’ll be able to choose from a few styling directions so everything feels aligned with your vision:

A clean, natural lifestyle look using your home’s existing spaces

A soft neutral studio-inspired setup (minimal and timeless)

A cozy wrapped newborn series with curated swaddles and textures

For newborn sessions, I also bring:

  • A collection of neutral swaddles
  • Soft bow options for baby girls
  • Simple, timeless props that never distract from your baby

You don’t have to decide everything ahead of time—I’ll help guide you when I arrive so it feels easy and intentional, not overwhelming.

What to wear (keep it simple)

  • The best photos come from feeling like yourself.
  • Soft neutrals, earthy tones, creams, and muted colors always photograph beautifully. Try to avoid bold logos or heavy patterns so the focus stays on connection and emotion.

And if you’re unsure—don’t worry. I’m always happy to help you choose something from your own closet or give suggestions ahead of time.

A few gentle tips before I arrive

These aren’t rules—just little things that can help the session feel even smoother:

  • Try feeding baby shortly before I arrive if possible
  • Loosen socks or tight clothing ahead of time to avoid marks on skin
  • Keep makeup and hair natural and simple (soft light does the rest)
  • For siblings, have a small snack or quiet activity ready for in-between moments

But honestly? Even if none of this happens perfectly, we’re still going to create something beautiful.

This is what I want you to remember

You don’t need to prepare your home, your children, or yourself for perfection.

These sessions are about connection—your hands holding your baby, the way your family fits together in this new season, and the quiet love that lives in your everyday life.

I’m not coming to photograph a staged version of your story. I’m coming to preserve the one you’re already living.

If this kind of session feels like something you’ve been wanting, I’d love to bring Golden Roots Photography into your home and create something meaningful with you.

Warmly,
